Clifton High School’s FFA chapter is preparing to send a team of talented students to compete at the State FFA Career Development Event (CDE) in Nursery/Landscape. The contest highlights students’ skills in plant identification, landscape design, and horticultural practices, providing a competitive platform for agricultural education across Texas. The event will be held in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University.
Representing Clifton at the state level are Piper Bennette, Marly Villarreal, Karsyn Webber, Mason Wetegrove, and Elijah Aguero. The team has spent months preparing for the contest, sharpening their knowledge of plant materials and landscape planning and design.
The team is led by FFA sponsor Mrs. Emily Perry, who has guided the students through their preparation and training. Under her direction, the group has developed both technical expertise and teamwork skills essential for success in the contest.
The Nursery/Landscape CDE is one of many events organized through the FFA program, designed to prepare students for careers in agriculture and related industries. Clifton FFA’s participation at the state level reflects the strength of the school’s agricultural education program and the commitment of its students.
A send-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Clifton High School to show support and recognize the students’ hard work and dedication. Community members are encouraged to attend the send-off and show their support as these students represent Clifton on the state stage.
