The spring 2023 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) has been redesigned to align closer to classroom instruction and the unique ways students learn. Reporting final test results for the redesigned STAAR will take a bit longer this year because educators from across the state will meet to provide their expert opinions on the passing scores for the redesigned assessments.

For further information, please view the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Texas Assessment webpage: TEA: Texas Assessment STAAR Redesign Resources for Parents or the Clifton ISD webpage: CISD State Assessment Information Webpage

For students participating in the April & May End-of-Course (EOC) opportunities [Algebra I, Biology, U.S. History, English I and English II], Clifton ISD administrators will be given access to scale scores, performance levels, and STAAR Report Cards on Wednesday, May 31st to make decisions on learning acceleration plans and retest requirements for the June 2023 administration.  Pending no corrections, these results will be considered final. The Family Portal will be updated on June 30, 2023.

For students participating in the April & May Grade Levels 3-8 for Reading, Mathematics, Science and/or Social Studies STAAR administrations, Clifton ISD will be given access to scale scores, performance levels, and STAAR Report Cards on Friday, August 11, 2023. The Family Portal for students in grades 3 - 8 will be updated with results on Wednesday, August 16th.

We understand the delay in scores and the impact of learning acceleration and individualized plans for support and are working diligently to ensure that every student identified will  receive necessary intervention and supports at the beginning of the 2023/24 school year.
