PK/K Roundup

Clifton Elementary School will host its first Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Roundup for the 2023-2024 school year on  Thursday, April 6, 2023. This pre-registration event will be for students either entering Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten at Clifton Elementary School in August of 2023. Parents/guardians may register their student(s) from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM on this date. The opportunity for parents and potential students to visit the Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms will be available on this date from 5 - 6:00 PM. Current classroom teachers will also be available at this time to answer questions about preparing your child for success as they begin their educational experience at Clifton ISD.


To qualify for Pre-Kindergarten at Clifton Elementary School, a child must be 4-years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023 AND meet one of the following criteria:

  • Limited English proficiency.
  • Family income falls within guidelines set by the state to receive free/reduced meals.
  • Homeless
  • Foster or adopted
  • Proof of Medicaid or Food Stamps
  • Star of Texas Award: The Child of a person eligible for the award as:
    • A peace officer under section 3106.002, Government Code;
    • A firefighter under section 3106.003, Government Code;
    • An emergency medical first responder, under section 3106.04, Government Code
  • Military: the child of a member of the armed forces of the U.S., including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, or the child of a member who was injured or killed during active duty.

To qualify for Kindergarten at Clifton Elementary School, a child must be 5-years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023.

Parents and guardians should bring the following documents in order to Pre-register their child for Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten:

  • Original birth certificate (not hospital issued copy)
  • Original Social Security Card
  • Updated immunization records (must be up-to-date on shots)
  • Driver's license or valid ID of parent or guardian
  • Proof residency (such as electric, water, gas, or cable bill or lease or mortgage information). If you are living with a family or friend within Clifton ISD, an affidavit must be completed and signed by a notary. The owner of the residence must provide one of the approved proofs of residency listed above, in their name and provide a valid ID or driver's license.
