Clifton Lions Club Members

We have GREAT stories to tell of all the things happening at Clifton Elementary School and all the amazing relationships that are being formed!  As such, the faculty, staff, and administration of Clifton Elementary School would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the community partners who helped make our in-service week and ‘Meet the Teacher Night’ a huge success. For those of us who live and work here, we already know that Clifton, Texas is a very special community. However, this was made especially clear to our teachers and staff new to the district for this school year as well as those returning by the outpouring of support we have observed and received these past couple of weeks.

Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, CES will be focused on developing community partnerships with different businesses and organizations within the greater Clifton community. We have already established a working relationship with Ochoa T-Shirt Sales from whom we purchase our campus t-shirts and make available to our students, staff and community members. Mario and his crew do a great job of meeting our needs and it is great to be able to use a local vendor for this. We also utilized Breaking Bread Bakery this past week to cater a faculty and staff luncheon so that teachers were able to grab a quick lunch while prepping their classrooms for our ‘Meet the Teacher Night.’ We look forward to reaching out and working with other local businesses with future events and supporting our students and teachers.

During our ‘Meet the Teacher Night’ we also partnered with the Bosque County Agricultural Extension Agency and our local Boy Scouts of America Pack #376 to get information out about their different youth programs. So, thank you to agents Chelsea Dorward, Kaitlin Thiele, and Chris Coon, as well as Cubmaster Bryan McCain, for supporting our CES students and families in their various roles. The Clifton Lions Club also came out during our ‘Meet the Teacher Night’ and provided vision screenings which was a great service to our students and families. Once again, a special thanks goes out to Renee Kettler, Richard Bergman, and Steve James  (pictured above) for volunteering their time and serving our CES students and their families in this way.

During in-service week the CES faculty and staff, as well as those from our other two campuses, were lovingly supported by our community churches. The Church of Christ provided an amazing breakfast buffet for all faculty and staff on Wednesday. On Friday, Immanuel Lutheran Church provided us an equally amazing lunch of pulled pork, beans, potato salad, and a smorgasbord of desserts. Finally, this past Sunday evening, the First Baptist Church of Clifton lead a prayer walk around our campus, as well as the middle school and high school, in collaboration with other faith communities. During this walk members of our community lifted our students, educators, administration, and board members up in prayer. They prayed for the safety of our students and educators. They prayed for the teaching and learning that will take place in each of our classrooms. They prayed for our extra-curricular programs. They prayed for the relationships that will be formed… the relationships between teachers and student, students and their peers, teachers and parents, our district and the community. Thank you for the prayers and your continued support throughout this coming year.

Clifton Elementary School looks forward to working with all our community partners and  all that we will accomplish together by simply loving, serving, and caring for one another. So, once again, thank you all for your support and for the sake of our Clifton students let’s focus on being GREAT together this school year!
